Have you ever tried to read the Bible, but got lost trying to figure out the order of events? Did David and Goliath become before or after Joshua? Do they even have any connection with one another?

The events in the Bible are not arranged chronologically (like a novel); they are arranged by style (poetry, history, etc), and sometimes, this can make things confusing.

In 2026, we are going to go on a journey together where we will explore many of the stories in the Bible in chronological order, as one overarching narrative. We will travel from Genesis, through the stories of Joseph, Esther, and Daniel, all the way through the New Testament to Revelation.

Each week, we will provide a reading plan to help you follow along. So join us on this journey as we discover the unfolding plan of redemption for humanity.

MOVEMENT 1 - BEGINNINGS
Beginnings traces the opening movement of Scripture, from creation to deliverance. God creates a good world and humanity in His image, but sin fractures that relationship, spreading brokenness through the human story. Yet God immediately begins a rescue plan—calling Abraham, forming a people through Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph, and preserving them even in suffering. As Israel grows in Egypt and falls into slavery, God reveals His power and faithfulness through Moses, confronting injustice and delivering His people through the Passover and the parting of the Red Sea. From the very beginning, the story is clear: God is faithful to His promises and committed to rescuing and restoring His people.

MOVEMENT 2 - KINGS & KINGDOMS
Kings and Kingdoms continues the story of God forming a people and shaping their identity. From Israel’s wandering in the wilderness to their entrance into the Promised Land, the nation repeatedly wrestles with trust and obedience. God raises up leaders—first Joshua, then judges, and eventually kings—to guide His people, revealing both His patience and His faithfulness despite their failures. The section culminates in the rise of David, a king after God’s own heart, showing that God’s purposes move forward not through human perfection, but through His covenant love and steady guidance.
MOVEMENT 3 - BROKEN KINGDOM
Broken Kingdom tells the story of a nation that drifts away from wholehearted devotion to God. Under Solomon, Israel reaches unprecedented wealth and influence, but his divided heart sets the stage for division. After his reign, the kingdom split into two kingdoms: Israel and Judah.  Meanwhile, a cycle of unfaithful kings leads both nations further from God. Through prophets like Elijah, Elisha, and Hosea, God repeatedly warns His people, calling them back to covenant faithfulness.  However, soon they would be exiled from their land and find themselves far from home. Despite their rebellion, God’s relentless love shines through—revealing a God who disciplines His people, not to destroy them, but to bring them home.
MOVEMENT 4 - RETURN & REBUILD
Return and Rebuild captures both the consequences of Israel’s unfaithfulness and the hope of restoration. As the kingdoms fall and God’s people are exiled, it appears the story is ending—but God is not finished. Through foreign rulers, faithful leaders like Zerubbabel, Ezra, and Nehemiah, and renewed devotion to God’s Word, the people return to Jerusalem. They rebuild the temple, restore worship, and begin reconstructing the city walls amid opposition. This section shows that even after failure and loss, God remains faithful, inviting His people to return, rebuild, and renew their covenant with Him.
