What Is It?

Bell Ringers and red kettles have been at the heart of the Salvation Army since 1891, when Salvation Army Captain Joseph McFee resolved to provide a free Christmas dinner to the poor of San Francisco. Today there are bell ringers during the holiday season throughout the United States and the world. Funds raised in our community are dedicated to serve the people who live here and are recovering from many kinds of personal disasters. Our local Salvation Army uses the denotations to support our local services and programs: providing emergency assistance, food assistance, seasonal assistance, emergency shelters, youth enrichment programs, and more.
